Teperberg Impression Sangiovese – elegant red wine from Israel
Teperberg Impression Sangiovese is a dry red wine from Israel with an elegant, fruity and lightly spicy style. Made from 100% Sangiovese, it combines ripe fruit with fresh acidity and a well-structured body. The aroma and flavour show mainly plum, cherry and floral notes. The wine has enough structure to give it character, while its freshness and smooth texture keep it balanced and approachable.
100% Sangiovese
This wine is made from 100% Sangiovese, a grape variety known for its fresh acidity, fruit-driven character and subtle spicy nuances. The grape gives the wine a combination of juiciness, elegance and structure. This makes the Sangiovese approachable enough to enjoy young, while still offering enough character to pair with more substantial dishes.
From the Judean Foothills
The wine comes from the Judean Foothills, the hilly wine-growing region of Judea in Israel. The vineyards in this area benefit from warm days and cooler nights, helping the grapes develop ripe fruit while retaining freshness. This suits Sangiovese particularly well, as the balance between fruit, acidity and spice is an important part of the grape’s character.
Aged 6 months in oak
After vinification, this Impression Sangiovese is aged for around 6 months in used French and American oak barrels. Because used oak contributes fewer dominant wood flavours than new oak, the fruit remains the main focus. The ageing mainly adds extra roundness, structure and subtle spice.
Tasting profile
Teperberg Impression Sangiovese is elegant, fruity and lightly spicy. The aroma and flavour show notes of plum, cherry and floral tones, complemented by fresh acidity and gentle spice. The structure is firm enough to give the wine presence without making it heavy. The finish is pleasant, fruity and lightly spicy.
Food pairing
This Sangiovese pairs well with beef, stews, pasta with tomato sauce, grilled vegetables and Mediterranean dishes. It also works very well with well-cooked meat, savoury oven dishes and mature cheeses, where its combination of fruit, fresh acidity and spice comes into its own.
Serving and storage
Serve Teperberg Impression Sangiovese at around 16–18°C. Store the bottle in a cool, dark place with as stable a temperature as possible. The wine is especially enjoyable while young, when its fruit and fresh acidity are at their most expressive.
Kosher for Passover and mevushal
Teperberg Impression Sangiovese is kosher, kosher for Passover and mevushal. The label states that the wine is made mevushal by pasteurisation. The wine contains sulphites.
