The Marawi is a white wine with citrus notes, a beautiful acidity and a pronounced minerality. This wine is a pure, ancient representation of the Israeli terroir. The Marawi is harvested from unirrigated vineyards and grown using the traditional trellising method known as “Hebron Overhead Arbor.”
In recent years there has been a lot of interest and new research into the local grapes from Israel. People are looking for varieties from which wine was produced thousands of years ago in the time of the Bible. Recanati is one of the few producers who can proudly say that they have taken the first serious steps with these varieties. They only produced 2,480 bottles from the first crop of 2014 because more grapes were not available yet.
