Firm, full, deep red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with a long finish.
Colour: Deep garnet red
Smell: Powerful scent of deep red forest fruits, terroir, jam-like, dried plums, lightly toasted wood, pepper and other spices
Taste: Still plenty of tannins, the plum and jam scents are reflected in the taste. The toasted wood is nicely woven into the taste
Wine/food: Richly filled stews and pasta sauces, red meat dishes, matured hard cheeses, sausages such as liverwurst, dry sausage and country pâté. A simple dish with boiled potatoes, beetroot and bacon and a fried onion will become a king's meal with this wine
Note: The Cabernet Sauvignon (50%) and the Merlot (50%) complement each other nicely, creating a beautiful terroir wine with earthy notes. The wine has rested in Frans Eikenhout for 8 months.
